I contacted the company and spoke directly to David Cotton who came to my home to make the arrangements for my uncle’s funeral. He was punctual, professional and kind. I sense that he’s a ‘people person’ and I felt very relaxed with him. He’s completely approachable and doesn’t make you feel like an idiot for not knowing what’s happening. He patiently explained everything as we went through and was there for me every step of the way. I was very impressed that he was able to arrange the flowers (they were absolutely beautiful, white roses and lillies) and a wonderful order of service. I know it isn’t about the money, but I feel that some funeral directors rip you off when you’re at your most vulnerable. Absolutely brilliant!!
Absolutely amazing, all I have to say. Bev and Dave went above and beyond to meet mums and our wishes for her finally journey, after we lost mum in February, due to a battle with cancer. In 1 of our sadest moments of mine and my sister's life, we was dreading the final part, but after meeting Bev and discussing all our different options, we felt relieved and glad that we had chosen them as our undertakers. We also felt at ease as mum was in the safe hands of Bev & Dave. Bev organised everything down from flowers to cakes and mums favourite tipple to toast her life. Also the surroundings off the chapel of rest was not morbid and we felt relaxed and was not rushed for decisions. Also the price was outstanding for what treatment mum and us were given. We can't thank them enough and will definitely referring them to friends and family in the future.

Dads funeral
I knew David from when he sponsored a local football team and got to know him. When my dad passed away I knew there would be no one else I trusted to take the best possible care of him. David and all his staff were so kind, compassionate and caring. I truely believe they treated my dad like he was a member of thier own family. They talked us through the process and accommodated all of our requests to give dad what we know was personal loving and perfect send off for my dad. I think her name was Bev in the office who gave me the best cuddle when I needed it the most. Although no one wants to arrange a funeral for a loved one, David and his team made everything effortless. We truly are thankful for everything you done for our dad. I wouldn't go anywhere else. You made us and our dad proud.

Very supportive
My family used D J Cotton & Sons funeral directors following the death of my father and arranged his cremation in February. Dave & Bev were very supportive from beginning to end and made everything as simple and clear as possible throughout. They showed great empathy and respect to the entire family and if the time ever came again to unfortunately need this service, I would not hesitate to seek their support again.

Attentive and personal service - would recommend
For us as a family it was the first time we have had to go through a close bereavement. We were guided by our local hospital who really helped. We found D J Cotton and Sons in the hospital bereavement book and decided to call them to discuss the details. David came round on a bank holiday Monday to go through everything with all the family. He was attentive and reassuring and we really felt he understood our heartache but also remaining professional and guiding us through it. We never felt anything was a burden to David and there was no pressure to have anything other than what we wanted. David has always, from start to finish, been available and we are truly thankful. I would certainly recommend D J Cotton and Son's to guide you through the sad, tough heartbreaking times.

I cannot praise D J Cotton & Sons enough. From the moment we started to discuss the arrangements they were as helpful as can be. David and Bev took the time to explain everything we needed to know. It was a very personal service they provided. On the day everything went so smooth, all the staff looked smart. David was very professional conducting the funeral. I'd also like to thank Donna who took the service. They made an awful experience that little bit easier as they took the stress out of the day. I wouldn't hesitate to use their services again, or recommend them to family and friends.

Thank you from the bottom From the moment I stepped into the shop, the hardest plans I’ve ever had to make were made easier. Bev was so informative, she listened and knew exactly what I wanted. She literally helped me every step of the way with my plans. David’s professionalism was another level, keeping me completely updated, I really felt my dad was in good hands. The evening before the funeral he made contact and made sure that I knew how things would run. On the day of the funeral David just ensured everything was just right! I cannot recommend DJ Cotton and son enough. From start to finish they will look after you, when you are going through one of the toughest times of your life. Once the funeral had taken place, it didn’t end there, David took care of my dads ashes until I was ready to bring him him and when I was he was there every step of the way! Minimal stress
Selected this company because of their proximity to me. However, I couldn't have made a better choice. Dave and Bev were very supportive every step of the way, nor just for me but my sons too, and made themselves available at all times. As well as the funeral, they also sorted out the flowers, donations and orders of service, which not all funeral directors do (speaking from experience).

All I can say is that the service was amazing, Dave and Bev have all of the touches required, My wife lost her dad unexpectedly and we tried several times trying to get hold of coop with no luck, what I loved the most is that not once did they refer to dad as a body or ashes. We found this company at a very sad time in my life. They have been very professional and kind in guiding us through the whole process and have felt more like trusted friends than a company. From the first meeting to the last we have been treated with a level of professionalism not often found today. They have shown us respect and have been supportive at every step of the way. I do not think my mother could have been treated with more respect and care leading up to and on her final journey. I can not thank them enough and would wholeheartedly and without reservation recommended them if you need a much loved one taken care of at their passing. They are much more than 5 star in my mind. A lovely little family business so able to provide that personal service. Very caring and courteous with understanding at every turn. Kindnesses and Compassion
David and Bev looked after my beautiful wife's funeral last month and were amazing. We didn't know what to do at all and David helped us with everything, things we hadn't even considered. At the worst time he took so much of the stress away, and showed us deep compassion, respect and kindness. He kept in touch to see how we were coping before and after the funeral. We couldn't have asked for more and we are extremely grateful. Thank you for everything.

David was recommended to us when our dad passed away in July. As a family we had no idea what to do arranging dads funeral. I received excellent service from David and Beverly. During an extremely upsetting time, David's professionalism and compassion were second to none. He listened, answered all my questions and advised. I was extremely impressed and would recommend the company in a heartbeat. Excellent value too.

I was at a complete loss after my good friend passed away quite suddenly, with no family to make any arrangements or any assests, I took it upon myself to do my very best for him. I contacted David at DJ Cotton who was without doubt fantastic. David talked me through everything in detail & literally removed all the stress & worries that go hand in hand when you are grieving & trying to make final arrangements. The standard of professionalism was exceptional. The entire process from collection to cremation service was handled with the upmost courtesy & respect. We could not fault the level of service received. David was extremely sensitive to our needs, and explained the whole process in a way that was easy to understand. David kept in touch with us throughout the whole cremation procedure until my husbands ashes came home. Me and my family felt reassured that he too cared for my husband and nothing was too much trouble for him. After seeing cremation serves on the TV. We were not aware that funeral directors also offered this service, and I doubt that I would have received the level of support from one of those companies. So I fully recommend David and his team to anyone going through bereavement, or who are looking for a funeral director for their loved one.

Caring and compassionate company
Highly satisfied with the service that we have received during this difficult and upsetting time. Cannot praise them enough for everything that they have done for us, they have gone above and beyond expectations and made a very difficult time that much better. If we have to do this again we will definitely be using their services again.

We as a family give this rating as their Service was definitely Outstanding, from the first difficult phone call to the Day of the Funeral their handling of it all was impeccable. David went over & above to help us, he made a stressful & sad situation stress-free & manageable. I found this company at a very sad time in my life, the passing of my mother, they were extremely kind and helpful and we felt listened to and our needs and wishes were important to them. They have treated us all with a level of professionalism and respect that i have not found in many many years. They made sure that everything went well and have kept us in the loop all through this sad time. They have ben very supportive also. They have provided us with such an excellent service and i felt my mother, our family and myself were the most important and cared for people at this time.
